If you haven’t heard of it yet, consider yourself lucky. “Zoom bombing” is a trend that took off when the transition to remote work and learning started earlier in 2020, in which strangers will join disrupt a Zoom meeting, oftentimes a class. All it takes is one rogue meeting member to share the link and passcode with friends, or worse, on a public forum like 4chan or reddit.
The trend put a spotlight on some of the video conferencing company’s vulnerabilities, and for a while, created chaos in meetings all around the world.
