A non-fungible token is a digital file whose unique identity and ownership are verified on a blockchain (a digital ledger.) They are not interchangeable, but are created by uploading files, such as digital artwork, to an auction market. As a new way to attain valuable collectibles, there has been a huge rise in digital art sales recently. Just as a baseball card holds a value, so do we also put value on other collectibles.
